Week 55

There is so much beauty in this world. I am thrilled and humbled to see within such short distances there is amazing nature to behold! How infrequent we are tourists to our own backyard!

The details of the dense, foliage lined river bend and rocky cliffs felt overwhelming for a small 2 hour piece. Our tactic was to spend very little time on our drawing, choosing to paint the drawing in much of this piece. It felt very similar to our plien air pieces. Anytime we don't have clear joint direction, we both tend to follow what's in our own brains. This really can become a problem!

Overall, it offers the beauty of late afternoon light cascading through the canyon with the rushing water. It captures the feeling of serenity you feel when gazing at the magnificent surround. Perhaps you can even feel the warm breeze and hear the evening birds taking flight.
