Week 95

I had an entire pineapple in my hand. It was hollowed and filled to the brim with fresh tropical juices. Studded with ruby red maraschino cherries and coconut slivers, it was an edible sculpture just as much a stately goblet. 

My toddler, reaching for the straw over my pregnant belly, splashing me with our treasure brought me back into the moment quickly. But it was a beautiful moment. We sat at the very tip, the bottommost point of the Continental United States, with our feet kicking over the side and the hot breeze on our faces. The sun was a low blaze giving way to a silky sky. The clouds were vibrant. The sailors past and we all waved with the wind.
