Week 96

The cold air pricked our faces and drew tears from the corners of our eyes. The secure footing of taupe rock suddenly disappeared as we stepped out on the bluish ice. It creaked and held. The hungry Acrocanthosaurs footprints could be seen below the lacy ice that covered them. The frozen river was quiet but not quite still.

In choosing this piece, we wanted to do something different, unexpected.  We decided the paint our scene upside down. It was a challenge to the mind. Flipping our image gave us a surreal and semiabstract feeling of the frigid sky, which is really its reflection mirrored in the glassy cerulean ice. Turn it upside down. You will see.

We laughed skidding delicately on the quiet ice, warming our frozen faces with still colder hands...we didn’t know it yet, but our family of 3 was already 4.  Our world was yet again to turn completely upside down.
