Week 76

On Anna Maria Island, every afternoon thick clouds roll over the blistering sun bringing a sudden hush, a scamper of beach umbrellas and then the deep refreshing rain. At times it’s only 30 minutes, sometimes it’s an hour, sometimes it’s accompanied by terrifying thunder and water creeping in through your balcony. Just as surely as you can count on the afternoon rain, the clouds then steadily roll back in homage to the sun, gloriously washed and shining in magnificent splendor. It’s more brilliant than noon when it flexes it’s powerful rays. The beauty that emerges only after a storm is brighter, stronger and more alluring. It is steadfast in this. In it’s beauty, it casts light and unbelievable color on everything around it. Only by the contrast of darkness and times of storminess, will our radiance likewise be complete.
