Week 116

Vapors of warm breath came steadily from beside me, mingling with my own before crystallizing and clinging to our cheeks flushed pink with the biting cold air. The sun had hastily begun it’s decent leaving its’ menagerie of color trailing behind, none too anxious to ebb into the dark.

Leaning over to see its’ reflection, a wild tree seemed mindless to half of its’ roots dangling entirely exposed, twisted, naked and free. The watercourse bubbled low and slow, as if abstractly denying it ever held the strength to carve this minute ravine. While it streamed by, conversing with the worn stones, the color that lit the sky flamed upon its’ glassy surface.

The silence in the frozen air was overwhelmed by the determined resonance of iridescent hues and movement. Each part seemingly caught up in its own self, is wholly and irrevocably connected. Together, it is a symphony of life and color. The song ringing out with many voices.

Our hands twine tighter, joining the harmony. In the cold December air, I feel the undeniable radiance of summer.
